Team Competition On The Big Stage

The Vanguard is a brand new fitness competition brought to you by the team behind the 2019-2021 Bacon Beatdown (and upcoming Atlantic Coast Classic!). It is a team-only event (Same sex 2s and co-ed 4s) hosted in the 4,000 seat Arena at the beautiful RP Funding Center in Downtown Lakeland.

We will bring what we’re known for: quality, balanced, fun, no-gimmicks programming, an incredible atmosphere, and a well-run event. Expect to see at least five workouts with five to six scores over two days (3 for beginners!), including an off-site pool wod. You should expect all manner of top-level team challenges, including worm work, synchro movements, hold mechanics, etc. Get your partner or your team ready..!

Just like The Bacon Beatdown / Atlantic Coast Classic, we will have an Arena for the competition with stadium seating overlooking the floor. We will also have an athlete/vendor room down the hall that will be a quieter place to rest, recover, and shop between wods. Chairs, mats, etc are welcome — no tents, though (it’s a space issue). We will release more venue details as we get closer to the event.

Venue

Our venue is the top-notch RP Funding Center, and we’re taking it over!

We’ll have competition in the Jenkins Arena, vendors and campground inside the Exhibit Halls, and food vendors inside the concourses.

Our swim workout will take place at the Gandy Pool, a 10 lane, 25′ short-course swimming facility just down the road.

NOTE: Beginner is Teams of 2 ONLY and Saturday ONLY (3 workouts). Beginners will not have to swim. All other divisions will compete Saturday and Sunday. 2-3 workouts each day, including a swim.
